Can you feel it? There is a change in the weather and all around town. Fall is here and the students have come back. I haven’t updated in a little while because I’ve been busy commanding my minions to battle!

Actually we’ve been trying to keep up with the busy flow of students and their parents who want to find the perfect bike, or who want to make their bike more perfect. You should hear the hub-bub around the shop, bikes coming in and leaving with fenders, racks, new light sets, the whole works. I have to find new places to sit because my baskets keep getting purchased.

Also, big news! The store is getting a new look. In a few days we will be dramatically changing the way B & L looks inside the shop. Keep your eyes out; we’re very excited for the change. I’ll even post before and after pictures in a few days.

In the mean time, take a look at a few of my adventures in the past few weeks.

Some Explaination

I think I need to explain—my minion, the one I posted that dorky picture of in my last post, she caught me in the boss lady's basket for Burning Man and posted it to the blog. Not sure how she got my password and it’s quite possibly the worst picture of me, but I guess I can let it go. I did post that awful picture of her and she gives me lots of greenies.

In answer to why I was hanging out in the boss lady's Burning Man bike basket….I was hoping to stow away so she could take me with her. Don’t get me wrong, the heat in the day and the dust, not a fan. Can you imagine how much work for the minions to get me clean after that? No thank you! But the nights? I think I can get behind the nights.  The lights, the sounds, so many people to admire my magnificence…this is an event made for me.  And so many wonderfully decorated bikes with beads and lights and unicorns, there are unicorns in the desert! I am so there if there are unicorns that light up.

The boss lady has been going for the last five years and has a blast every time. You can see some of the cool things she has on her bike in that bad picture of me - the flowers, wild yarns and lights should be very easy to spot.  You can take a look at all the other fun things we have for your Burning Man steed here in the shop.The iridescent streamers, neon lights and spoke beads are hard to miss.  Fair warning though, you will have to supply your own unicorn.

Hey! I've got a secret!

Psst! Psst…I wanted to let you all in on a well known secret….I have a jersey with my face on it!

I know! Calm down, it is pretty awesome. If you haven’t seen it, here’s my face and a really dorky picture of one of my minions modeling the front.

Every one needs a bike jersey; I think everyone cycles better with my face on their backside though.

The Sale Must Go On!

Meow!

Happy Monday everyone! It’s a bright sunny day and I can’t find anything I like better than laying in the sun out by the stairs. My minions keep disturbing my sleep when they run around all crazy for the sidewalk sale—which has been a total blast.

I have been meeting so many people and getting so much love and attention that I’m extending the sale through next weekend at B&L! Come by, I always need more treats and we have lots of deals on bikes, locks, helmets, fenders, just about everything.

On a less happy note, I’m sad to report that one of my favorite minions is leaving me for another job. Jenna has been my BFF in B&L too for two years and is taking a job at UC medical center doing research on brains. I am going to miss my mornings lying about while she reads me the reports of all the business happenings.  We will miss you Jenna, say hello to all the hospital kitties in Sacramento!

Meow-meow! Wow, I can’t believe how long it’s been since I updated. Must be all the treats and the meatballs I’ve been wrangling from next door. Got me sitting out the winter and spring all fat and sassy. 

But no more, the boss lady has come back from vacation and, oh boy has she put an end to all that. She’s got me chasing after our new MonkeyLectric bike lights—the minions keep saying they are great for tricking out your bike for burning man? I don’t know why you would burn a man so I think it has something to do with all the colors and light—they make me dizzy. Boss lady’s also pretty excited for our sidewalk sale, July 11th, 12th and 13th. Sounds like a party downtown with music in the E St plaza and prizes for the top retail spender. See Davisdowntown.com for more detail.
