Staff Tuesday: Paul!

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Things have been a bit crazy around the shop because the boss ladies are interviewing possible new minions for me to cast a spell over. Hopefully, there have been some good candidates and I will be able to share their stories with you.

MEOW!!! It's Tuesday and I have pulled myself out of my nice fluffy bed to tell you about another one of these pesky minions I [cough...meow], I mean B&L, has as a member of their [meow..wait..OUR] team.

This week I introduce you to PAUL!
Here is a picture of Paul hard at work!

Paul has worked for B&L for about 1 1/2 years now... he spends his days wrenching in the shop...

Paul was born on September 20th, 1988. His birthday wasn't too long ago... I heard the staff sang him Happy Birthday at a Staff dinner so he was treated well! [I meowed to him my version of Happy Birthday as well]

Paul has 5 bicycles [Meow.. almost as many.. well not quite as many as James who we learned about 2 weeks ago]! Most of Paul's bicycles are Mountain bikes. You can find him out on the trails when hes not working or taking classes at Woodland Community College.

When asked what he likes about riding bikes, he says, “It is fun to fly down a mountain at 30mph, and relaxing to go for a leisurely ride on country roads.” [Meow.. Mountain biking sounds fun...maybe he'll take me in a basket some time]

An interesting fact about Paul: His memory is AMAZING... he can recall a lot of information at all sorts of different times..I think he's really smart too [shh..dont tell him I said that...I wont get any more curly fries from him...he already doesn't give me enough...MEOW... I love curly fries!]

So there you have it, Paul my third Tuesday Staff Pick to share with you! Stop by my corner next week to learn about the next minion under my spell.

Also starting next Sunday I will also begin to post Weekly Items.. to inform you about what we have in our Shop and at B&L too... Make sure you stop by my corner sometime throughout each week because I might be offering specials with some of the Weekly Items...

Till then, I leave you with a wise word from Paul: "You get out of life what you put into it!"

Staff Tuesdays: Caitlin

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week. I had a relaxing weekend, although I did have to tell the Mechanics to pick up the pace a bit. It's our busy season in the repair center and man-oh-man there are a lot of bicycles to weave through in the shop.

But hey, it's Tuesday and it's time to learn about another one of my darling minions... CAITLIN! Caitlin makes me MEOWWWW!!!!
Go Girl Go!  Caitlin during one of the Triathlon events for UC Davis!

Caitlin has worked for B&L for about 5 months now... she works on the B&L Too side!

She was born on October 10th, 1991. A belated Happy Birthday is in order for her!

Caitlin has 2 bicycles and a new one on the way. She currently owns a Beach Cruiser and an 80's Road Bike named Claudia. [Yes she named her bicycle!] Now, she has a 2012 Fuji Finest 1.0 on the way!

When asked what she likes about riding bikes, she says, “It's fun and exhilarating not to mention great exercise!”

An interesting fact about Caitlin: She's been riding dirt bikes [meow.. dirt bikes..?] since she was 4 years old. She has broken many bones while tearing up the track. [meow...poor thing..I'll stick to promoting regular bikes]

So there you have it, my second Tuesday Staff Pick! Stop by my corner next week to learn about the next minion under my spell.

Till then, I leave you with Caitlin's Favorite quote: "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom" - Aristotle

Milo Introduces: Staff Tuesdays

Happy Tuesday! Starting today, and the Tuesdays to follow, I will introduce you to a staff member from B&L Bike Shop. It’s time you learn about those who are under my cute, furry spell!

Today, I’m introducing you to one of our mechanics, JAMES!!!  James is purrfect; he feeds me whatever he’s eating!

Don't let the serious face fool you. He's usually full of smiles, but the blow torch requires extreme concentration!

James has worked for me . . . [COUGH!  Hairball!] I mean B&L for almost a year.

He was born on November 13th.  The year of his birth remains a mystery, because he often forgets, but a great birthday present would be a Root beer.

James has more bicycles than my furry paws can count! He has 2 Mountain Bikes, 1 Road Bike, ½ a touring bike [meow? not sure what that means] and an unknown quantity of unmade/unfinished bikes.  He has been in the industry for about 20 years now.  [MEOW! That’s 4 times longer than I have been alive!

When asked what he likes about riding bikes, he says, “Cycling is GOOD for you! It’s very Zen. You see things, breathe things, and think things you would never do during any other activity.”

An interesting fact about James: Apparently, He’s not very interesting – but he does feed me and gives me my much deserved love! The other staff members love him because he always seems to have a fantastic stash of sweets. You’ll know your bike has been in good hands when you see a cookie monster stamp, James’ signature mark, on your repair tickets.

So there you have it, the first Tuesday Staff Pick! Stop by my corner next week to learn about the next minion under my spell.

Till then, I leave you with this: “Wherever you go, there you are!” –James

Summer's gone already!!

Wow! What a summer! I lost all hope keeping up on my blog because it was too darn stinkin' hot for me. I apologize that I have been a bad blogger, but what's a cat to do? Meow...Purr...Meow... At least I am cute, so you can't be mad at me!

I spent the summer lounging around and trying to stay cool. I spent a lot of time pawndering [pun intended] what I could blog about. What could I blog about to keep my minion's attention? Ideas anyone?

One of the lady bosses took a class on blogging while she was away at INTERBIKE, the bicycling industry's convention (I'm still quite upset that she didn't take me with her), and she came back with great ideas. I might think about adding them to what I already dreamed up while sleeping my summer away.

Now I command you to stop by my corner weekly because I have a few topics on my whiskers that I am ready to crunch away at. Also, I have been told that I can leave little treats for my minions, but you'll have to read my blog to find out what they are.

Treats, treats, treats....mmmmmmmmmm....I want treats...then a nap!
